FREE STEM CAMP - Updates - PSSAs

Parents,

Temple University’s College of Science and Technology will be hosting the 2019 Greater Philadelphia STEM Center Summer Camp, a 2-week residential camp that provides activities, experiments, projects, and field experiences for students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2019.  The camp aims to increase awareness and interest in STEM careers, particularly in engineering, power and energy, and national security and defense.  Additionally, the camp will encourage students and allow them to see themselves as students and in scientific careers through a college environment and laboratory exposure, scientist and engineer interaction, and industrial tours.  There is no charge for students to attend and I have attached the application form to this e-mail for your convenience.  Contact Tiffany ElBardissi (Science Education Programs Manager) at either stemcamp@temple.edu or 267-559-3568 for more information.

Payments for all end-of-year (EOY) trips is now past due.  If you have a final payment to make please send in the money by Monday, April 15.  We have payments to make to vendors and are in need of this money to make those payments.  Any students with outstanding balances after April 15 will be taken off the list to attend the EOY trip.

Friday, April 12, is a half-day with students dismissed at 12 noon.

The Language Arts PSSA test will be given April 15-17.  The Math PSSA will be given April 29 and 30.

School is closed due to Spring Break April 18, 19, and 22.

The Jenks Fun Fest carnival will be held Saturday, April 27.

Thank you for the continued support of your child's education!

Mr. Hilburt
